This is a post floating around FB this week.
Highly appropriate for the way I am feeling about Broncos loss on Sunday.
I recognize that failure is part of life and grows us up to be more like Christ along the way. Not that Christ ever failed, but his humility is something to emulate as I grow up into him.
My 15 year old son asked me the other day what it’s like to be a pastor and be “perfect”.
“You know, dad,” he said, “You aren’t the guy screwing up all the time, but you teach people from the pulpit how to live a holy life.”
I almost crashed the car when he said that, not because he was right, but more accurately, because he was so dead wrong.
My heart began drowning in all the memories of recent sin and hurting God I had willingly participated in, while “snowing” my son and looking good…. to him.
This article is just the thing I needed to read this week.
Enjoy.
