Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on Luke 2.
The narrative of the birth story of Jesus has become so glorified and commercialized, that we seldom stop to think of how discrete and obscure the event really was. I’m sure not many teenage mothers today would want to give birth in an animal stable and lay their newborn down in an animal feeding trough.
The fact that God made his presence known into this dirty world, through an experience like this, is proof again that God enters into our mess. If God can enter the mess of an animal stable on the night Jesus was born, what area of your messy life will you allow God to enter? Are you keeping God from entering your life somehow? Do you have a road closed sign up in your life, where God is not allowed in? Give God passage tonight to enter into the mess of your life, and see if real healing will begin, so God can bring you peace.
