It’s a Messy Christmas; Luke 2

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on Luke 2.

manger-1The narrative of the birth story of Jesus has become so glorified and commercialized, that we seldom stop to think of how discrete and obscure the event really was. I’m sure not many teenage mothers today would want to give birth in an animal stable and lay their newborn down in an animal feeding trough.

The fact that God made his presence known into this dirty world, through an experience like this, is proof again that God enters into our mess. If God can enter the mess of an animal stable on the night Jesus was born, what area of your messy life will you allow God to enter? Are you keeping God from entering your life somehow? Do you have a road closed sign up in your life, where God is not allowed in? Give God passage tonight to enter into the mess of your life, and see if real healing will begin, so God can bring you peace.screen-shot-2016-12-26-at-11-33-28-am

Supernatural Generosity

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on the BOOK OF ACTS.

acts_fb_cover

Chapter 2 talks about the beginning of the church as the Holy Spirit is given to people. So often we look at Acts 2 merely as the beginning of the church, which is important, but we can easily miss the character of God displayed through His supernatural generosity, His supernatural boldness, leading us to supernatural repentance, and creates a supernatural community as a result. Join us as we look deeper into Acts 2.

Time To Quite Complaining

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on quitting on complaining.

quit_complaining.1We spend so much time on wasted words. It’s so easy to think of the negative rather than the positive. Complaining is our default mechanism because of our sin nature. We can learn to quit on complaining by analyzing our complaining habits. Join us as we walk through Philippians 2 together. You should have the same attitude as Christ Jesus, who never complained.

God Allows More Than You Can Handle

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on Urban Legends.

Urban Legends

God will often allow you to have more than you can handle. Why do people die unexpectedly? Why do we have so many with cancer? Why is there so much pain in the world, right now? God is shaping those who have faith to be like Christ. Stop saying, “God won’t give you more than you can handle.” We debunk the myths of spirituality here at Crossroads. Pay attention, so you don’t end up saying the wrong thing to people who are suffering through pain.

Character Matters; When Emotions Run Your Life

Samson came on the scene around 1300 BC, when Israel was being oppressed by the Philistines. Samson’s life is not one to emulate today. In fact, we can learn a few things about how to walk with God through Samson’s emotionally driven mistakes. Take this journey with us into the better issues of character as we discuss how emotions can run your life, if you are not led by the Holy Spirit.

PRAYER; Prayer With A Purpose

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on The Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6.

prayer_patterns

Join us to learn about the Lord’s Purpose for prayer. This is the key to the prayer. When we understand whose Kingdom it is, and whose Will we are serving, then we can understand why we are engaging in prayer altogether. Learning to surrender your will to God the Father regarding His Kingdom helps us to put the entire LORD’S PRAYER into perspective.
