We take a closer look at what it means to make God’s Name holy, or hallowed, and sanctified. What would it take in your life to make God’s Name more Holy to you? How would your prayer life change if you called on the Holy Name of God the Father, more than just rattling off a grocery list of prayer needs to God? How do you engage in relationship with God the Father?

Dig A Little Deeper

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on the prophet Elisha.

Elisha-Art

His encounter in 2 Kings 3:9-20 is as real today as it was then. We run out of water, and we pray to God so that God might “fix it”, but we seldom participate in the work it takes to have a miracle happen. Think of the miracles of Jesus. People were asked to participate in the miracle; “pick up your mat”, “stretch out your hand”, “go wash in the pool”… Jesus asks us to participate in the miracles that God is performing through us today also.

Stop Wavering; Make A Decision

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on 1 Kings 18, where Elijah the prophet challenges the 450 false prophets of Baal to a sacrifice competition.

Elijah_snap_logo

The point of the encounter is to “stop wavering and make a decision of which God to follow”. What are the false gods in your life that you’ve given allegiance to? Where do you find your faith wavering? Who is getting all your worship? Do you worship the God of heaven, or the gods of worry, money, power, pleasure and sex? It’s time to stop wavering and worship Jesus.

It’s Not All About Money

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on giving and tithing in the church, but this time it’s not about money.

Blessed_logo

Some people believe that writing a simple check to the church is enough. Some think just giving a little bit of charity is enough. Jesus taught us in John 13:3-17 that to give is to serve one another. Listen to how the Gospel of John teaches us to live the blessed life through serving others.

But, I’m Not Good Enough

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on the series Altar Ego.

Altar_Ego_snap

How do we get out of feeling inadequate? Sometimes we don’t think we’re good enough, but our Father God tells us that in Christ, we are good, now. We can do all things in Christ who gives us strength. Where do you feel inadequate, and what do you need to do to sense God’s love for you again?
