You’re The One With “Control Issues”

Crossroads Church of Greeley, Colorado http://www.crossroadsgreeley.com

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on “Being Sick & Tired of Being Sick & Tired”.

Control

We look at the issues of control in the life of the one who follows God. If you have a faith in Jesus, you might know that God calls us to lay down our lives before Him and give up our issues of control & fear. The issues of control come from insecurities and fears. When you let fears rule your life, you don’t give up control to God to work things out. When you trust God with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-8), then you begin to let go of your need for controlling others. Your life actually becomes more filled with peace and joy. What are the things hanging you up as you try to control others around you? How can you learn to give up control, so God can work through you to bless the world a little bit more?

Trust The Puzzle Maker God

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on Colossians 1:15-22.

puzzle Pieces

If we can trust a puzzle maker to put all the right pieces in a puzzle box, we can surely trust the God of all creation to put our lives together in JESUS. Colossians 1 says that God created the world through Jesus, and that Jesus holds all things together in life. Join us as we hear how God is better than puzzle makers, today. If you life feels like it’s in pieces, then we need to hear from the God of all peace who holds all things together in Jesus.

seek-wisdom

Pastor Julia speaks on Proverbs 3:1-12 where the writer of wisdom compels us to obedience, trust, giving, and discipline from the Lord. Where do you stand with walking in obedience to the Lord, or learning to trust God more for the details of your life, or learning to give as God compels you, or even living under submission to the Lord’s discipline? You won’t want to miss this teaching from Pastor Julia on how we walk in upright living before God.

When God seems Cold Hearted

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on peoples’ misconception of God’s character when He seems cold hearted.

dont give_up

When God doesn’t answer prayers; when God let’s trouble come; when God allows suffering, it seems so unfair. Isn’t God the omniscient Heavenly Father who is supposed to shield us from all trouble, heartache and pain? Maybe we have the formula all wrong about God. Maybe we go through suffering so that we see God’s purpose in our pain, or find God’s presence in our pain, or better yet, become more persistent through the midst of pain. Don’t give up when things get rough, in fact, look for God all the more. He’s right there with you, in it all, and through it all.

Seeking All the God-Feelings

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on only seeking feels from God.

feelingsDo you find yourself wanting more emotional connection with God? Sometimes we seek after something emotional, or tingly feelings from God, rather than seeking the truth of God’s character. We live in a society now that is so emotionally driven, fake news or real, that we miss what God’s character is really like. Did you know that the Bible is not primarily emotionally satisfying? Did you know that Jesus didn’t ever ask someone how they “felt” about obeying God? God doesn’t ask us how we feel about walking with Him, He expects us to walk by faith.

God Is Not A Short-Order Cook

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on a portion of God’s character.

short-order cookGod doesn’t exist to serve us, we exist to serve God. God is not a short-order cook, granting our every wish. God is more sovereign, more good, more loving and His ways are higher than our ways. When we begin to understand that God’s love will never fail, and God’s presence is always with us, we learn to trust in His glorious power and sovereign will for our lives. Don’t let circumstances sway your view of a Holy God.
