You’re The One With “Control Issues”

Crossroads Church of Greeley, Colorado http://www.crossroadsgreeley.com

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on “Being Sick & Tired of Being Sick & Tired”.

Control

We look at the issues of control in the life of the one who follows God. If you have a faith in Jesus, you might know that God calls us to lay down our lives before Him and give up our issues of control & fear. The issues of control come from insecurities and fears. When you let fears rule your life, you don’t give up control to God to work things out. When you trust God with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-8), then you begin to let go of your need for controlling others. Your life actually becomes more filled with peace and joy. What are the things hanging you up as you try to control others around you? How can you learn to give up control, so God can work through you to bless the world a little bit more?

A Different Calling in this World

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on 1 Peter 2.

dead.faith

God has called you; chosen you; picked you out of a line up, to be different in this dark world. You have the gifts and qualities necessary to meet the needs for someone near you. Open your eyes, and open your hands to serve those around you with the love of Jesus. You don’t have to have all the right words, just serve with an open heart. God will provide a place to serve, when you follow your callings. If God nudges you in life, say yes to his leading. You don’t have to worry about being embarrassed or confused, or afraid, with God in the lead, He will provide the care you need to serve his people. What are you afraid of? Step out in faith.

Trust The Puzzle Maker God

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on Colossians 1:15-22.

puzzle Pieces

If we can trust a puzzle maker to put all the right pieces in a puzzle box, we can surely trust the God of all creation to put our lives together in JESUS. Colossians 1 says that God created the world through Jesus, and that Jesus holds all things together in life. Join us as we hear how God is better than puzzle makers, today. If you life feels like it’s in pieces, then we need to hear from the God of all peace who holds all things together in Jesus.

Sometimes we feel like we can’t handle life. We can’t handle the pressure when responsibilities build up to much. Some people don’t know how to respond to God when their lives feel mismanaged. What do you do when life is out of control? Who do you turn to when you can’t take it anymore? Are you one of those who wants to end your life before letting it get better? This talk is for you. There are things we can do to share the load, or stop the behavior, or surrender it all to Jesus.

You Can’t Keep People Pleasing

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on the irrational thought of people pleasing.

rules-for-all

We get ourselves into a trap of pleasing others, which eventually makes us compromise our integrity, or sell out, or miss the goals we want to achieve. It’s easy to become a people pleaser if we remain obsessed with what people think about us. But when we embrace the identity that God gives us in Christ, we can live into the beloved child of God that He created. You choose. Keep people pleasing and feel empty, or be a God-pleaser and feel complete.

Grateful for Hard Work

Pastor Reid Olson of Crossroads Church of Greeley teaches on being grateful for the journey. We live in a generation of quitters; people who want the easy life.

BEERThe Bible says the easy life isn’t worth living. Somewhere along the way people bought into the idea that life is supposed to come easy and we became allergic to hard work. God tells us to take up our cross, deny ourselves and follow Jesus. We want all the pleasures in life without working through the pains along the way. Before you leave your Christian faith because it’s not as easy as you thought it would be, let’s lean into the difficult things and give God the glory for the grind of life. Let’s be more grateful.
